Topic: Understanding and Leveraging Neutral Parties and Special Masters in the Enterprise

Neutral Parties and Special Masters have been used in the litigation process for decades.  They have become common in addressing eDiscovery concerns in both Federal and GA State Courts.  The Norcross Group has filled both roles as well as having interacted with many others acting in those roles.  This presentation starts with an overview of the two roles and explains the typical working process.

Examples of cases will be presented, such as describing the value of the neutral party in Intellectual Property Theft cases, serving from Collection through to Remediation.  It will provide lessons learned and allows the audience to share their own experiences.  Other areas of discussion will include how to select and work with a Neutral Party and/or eDiscovery Master.  It is Norcross Group's experience that Corp Counsel will often lean heavily on the eDiscovery and Computer Forensic teams in selecting people or companies to fill these roles.
